FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. How long does it take to spray a bathroom or kitchen?
A. Generally a bathroom can be resprayed in 2 days and a kitchen usually takes between 2-3 days. We take all doors and drawers away and resurface these off site so as to achieve a better finish and reduce any inconvenience to you.
Q. Can I use these rooms during the process?
A. Each job is different but generally speaking no. During kitchen resurfacing you will still have access to your fridge but will need to remove anything that you think you might need to use over the duration e.g. Kettle, toaster, cutlery, microwave, food. The dining table is a good place to have these items for ease of use. Your resurfacing technician will advise you on what you can use.
Q. Does resurfacing leave a smell in the house?
A. Resurfacing does usually leave a smell, but it doesn’t stay in the air for long. A ventilation unit is used during spraying and vents most of the odour outside. Plastic spray sheets are also put up to trap the odour in the one area.
Q. How are nearby surfaces protected from over spray and dust?
A. All care is taken to ensure nearby surfaces are covered. Floors are covered with drop sheets, cupboards are masked up to protect the contents within and the surrounding walls are also masked up to a certain height and width to catch any overspray.
Q. Do resurfaced areas chip or scratch easily?
A. The surfaces don’t chip or scratch easily, however you do need to take care with resurfaced areas.
Q. Is the material we use paint?
A. Our product is Poly-Glass Polyurethane which is purpose designed for kitchen and bathroom surfaces.
Q. Is the product heat resistant, will it yellow or crack and how hard/strong is it?
A. Poly-Glass™ Polyurethane is an amazing product in that it provides resilience to cracking during expansion and contraction due to temperature fluctuations. Unlike epoxy enamels and motor vehicle materials which are used by many of our competitors, our product will not crack or yellow over time. It provides a surface which is harder than acrylic or enamel and provides excellent stain resistance and colour retention.
